OMGOMGOMG You guys!!!

I just got back from a run and I ran four miles!!!! Yep - you read that right!!!! FOUR MILES!!! This was my goal to do by April, but as I was out there running tonight, I was feeling so good I said what the hell and just did it. I really could’ve ran further even. I bet I had another mile in me…it felt that damn good. But, my sons karate class was over, as was my daughters cardio class and they were ready to go home. I’m going to set my April running goal to 6 miles now instead, actually, gonna make that 6.2 miles so that I can run a 10k.

A lot of you haven’t known me the whole time I’ve been here at Buddyslim, so you have no idea what all this means to me. When I first started out, weighing 338 lbs., there was very little I could physically do. I started out walking slowly. It took me 12 minutes to walk .4 of a mile and then I’d sit and take a 5 minute break before getting up and walking another .4 of a mile. At that point I didn’t even dare dream of ever RUNNING that .4 of a mile, let alone TEN of them!!! I guess what I am trying to say is to never, never, never give up! If I can do this…if I can come so far, anyone can. I feel so good, happy and am excited about what is yet to come in my journey. I feel so ALIVE!

Thank you for this post. I have been really struggling lately. I’ve been watching my calories, and pushing myself during workouts, I can see results in my body but that damn needle on the scale won’t budge. It’s so hard to keep going every day without that measureable result, I really needed to hear someones victory today. Thanks for sharring, you’re helping me hang in there today. Keep pushing yourself Gal!

YAY YAY YAY for you! This is awesome. I totally am so excited for you cause, eventhough I used to be an athlete, I struggle with getting my now 250 # body moving. It is getting easier since I am down almost 30 pounds but I cant just get moving right now like I would like to. It takes a lot of effort. SO I am so inspired by you Catrina. I will one day be able to run like I used to when I played sports without feeling like my limbs and fat are being ripped off my body! YIPEE!
wooot, woot!! Awesome, congrats!
OMG!! I absolutely LOVE this blog! Just what I needed to read!! Yes, not all of us have had the HONOR of knowing you since day one…but I must gloat here because I did and I can remember as clear as crystal how tough it was for you and how DAMN DETERMINED you were and how the weight just seemed to melt off of you in the beginning…and I’ve seen you struggling and get back up again and you know what? I know that running four miles is your personal victory, but having been here with you every step of the way, makes me my victory as well because you see Catrina, I am very, very proud of you!
Nice work on that run !!!
